Living with the Easee app.

Most of what you do with an Easee One happens in the Easee app. Start or stop a charge from the sofa, see exactly what each session delivered, and set schedules so the car fills up when electricity is cheapest. It is clean, quick and genuinely pleasant to use.

Our honest take on the Easee One.

We have installed hundreds of Easee chargers across London and the South East, from single driveways to whole apartment blocks. That history is the reason it leads our lineup. It is small, it looks good on any wall, and the hardware almost never gives us a reason to go back.

The clever part is how much is built in. The eSIM means it does not care about your WiFi. Lock a cable in through the app, ordered separately, and the socket becomes tethered. And if you add a second car later, a second Easee shares the same circuit without an expensive supply upgrade.

Be aware of one nuance. It works with Intelligent Octopus Go as a linked device rather than natively, so Octopus takes over the scheduling and the Easee app takes a back seat. For most owners that is exactly what they want anyway.

The evon install team We install and maintain every charger on this page.

Where it wins

  • The most proven charger on our books, by volume
  • eSIM keeps it online without your WiFi
  • Three chargers on one fuse, no supply upgrade
  • Five colours, and the neatest footprint on this page

What to watch

  • Intelligent Octopus Go runs as a linked device, not native
  • No charging cable in the box, it is ordered separately
  • Solar charging needs the separate Equalizer accessory
  • Warranty is 3 years where Rolec and Nexblue offer 5

Easee One questions, answered.

Does the Easee One work with Intelligent Octopus Go?

Yes. The Easee One connects to Intelligent Octopus Go as a linked device through the Easee cloud. Octopus schedules your charging into the cheapest overnight slots and the charger follows.

One detail matters: Easee smart scheduling must be switched off so the two systems do not fight each other. We set this up correctly at handover.

Is the Easee One tethered or untethered?

It is an untethered Type 2 socket, so it works with any cable and any car. If you prefer a tethered setup, the app can lock a cable into the socket permanently, which gives you the best of both.

Note that a charging cable does not come with the unit as standard. We can supply one with your installation, and once it is locked in through the Easee app the charger behaves exactly like a tethered unit.

Does the Easee One need an earth rod?

No. PEN fault protection and RCD protection are built into the unit, so no earth rod is required. That keeps the installation faster, tidier and cheaper.

Can I run two Easee One chargers at home?

Yes, and this is one of its best tricks. Up to three Easee chargers share one fuse using built in wireless load balancing, splitting the available power automatically. Two car households rarely need a supply upgrade.

Other chargers we install.

Every charger on this page comes with the same survey, installation by our own engineers, certification and aftercare. Only the hardware changes.
