The Grant Closed on 31 March 2026
The EV Infrastructure Grant for Staff and Fleets was the main OZEV funding route for workplace EV charging infrastructure up to 31 March 2026. It paid up to £15,000 per site with a split of £500 per provisioned parking bay and £350 per active socket. It covered 75% of eligible costs.
OZEV closed the grant to new applications on that date. There is no direct successor scheme for the per-site infrastructure cap. The government decision was to consolidate support into a single workplace route.
What Replaced It
The Workplace Charging Scheme is now the single funding route for workplace EV charging. It was uplifted from £350 to £500 per socket on 1 April 2026, partly to offset the loss of the Infrastructure Grant.
Under the Workplace Charging Scheme you can claim £500 per active socket installed, covering up to 75% of the purchase and installation cost. You can claim for up to 40 sockets across all your sites. The scheme runs until 31 March 2027.
For a 10 socket workplace installation, that is £5,000 in grant funding. For a 40 socket portfolio across multiple sites, it is £20,000.

What It Means for Your Project
If you had planned your workplace charging around the Infrastructure Grant, two things have changed in practice.
The headline grant value is smaller. Previously you could secure up to £15,000 per site plus socket funding. Now the grant is socket-based at £500 each, capped across your portfolio.
The cabling and groundworks are no longer separately funded. The Workplace Charging Scheme covers charger purchase and installation as a single line item. Sites with expensive civil works now carry more of that cost directly.
We still handle the full application, deduct the grant from your quote, and scope your project around the socket cap that delivers the best return.
If You Applied Before the Deadline
If you submitted an EV Infrastructure Grant application before 31 March 2026, your installer has until 26 May 2026 to complete the claim on the old portal. The final resubmission deadline for any queries is 6 July 2026.

Other Grants to Know
Beyond the Workplace Charging Scheme, state-funded education institutions can claim £2,000 per socket through the same scheme. The Residential Landlord Chargepoint Grant at £500 per socket applies to staff parking at residential buildings where the staff bays are part of a wider apartment block. Individual staff members may also qualify for the Households with On-Street Parking Grant or the Flats and Renters Grant for charging at home.
