The Timeline, Stage by Stage
The free survey starts it, one visit covering supply, cable routes and bay positions. The grant application follows, vouchers typically land within a couple of weeks and stay valid for 180 days, so the installation books against your calendar rather than the scheme’s.
On site, wall mounted units near the building finish in a day or two. Car park pedestals with trenching run longer, three to five days depending on distance and surface. Noisy work schedules around your quiet hours, bays come out of service in small batches, and access routes stay open throughout. Commissioning, tariff setup, payment testing and the map listings all happen before we hand over.
Working Around a Full House
Occupied sites are normal for us. The playbook: barrier off the smallest working area, keep the entrance and disabled bays clear, time breaker work for mid morning when the building is quietest, and brief reception daily so the desk always knows what tomorrow looks like. Guests see cones for a few days and then an amenity.
Seasonal parks flip it, install in the closed months and open the season with the listing already live.

What Stretches It
Listed buildings add consent time, eight to twelve weeks in parallel. Long trenching runs add days, not weeks. And network operator involvement, rare with load management in the design, adds a planning conversation we run early precisely so it never surprises the schedule.
