Does the Easee One Come With a Charging Cable?

TL;DR

No. The Easee One is a socket only charger and a charging cable is not included in the box. Most drivers already have a Type 2 cable that came with the car, and it plugs straight in. If you need one, a good cable costs £100 to £200, or £240 for the official Easee 7.5 metre version. We can supply one with your installation.

Check Your Boot First

Most new EVs come with a Type 2 charging cable as standard. If yours did, you already own everything the Easee One needs, and buying another is money wasted. Check the boot before you order anything.

If your car came without one, or you want a second cable to keep at home, choose the length carefully. Measure from the charger position to where your charging port sits when the car is parked normally. A 5 metre cable suits most driveways. Go 7.5 metres if the port is on the far side.

The Cable Lock Trick

This is the feature that makes the missing cable a non issue. The Easee app can lock a cable into the socket permanently, which turns the One into a tethered charger in practice. The cable stays on the wall, always ready, exactly like a built in one.

Change cars later, or want to take the cable on holiday, and you unlock it in the app. It is the only charger in our lineup that switches between tethered and untethered whenever you like.

One more practical point. The socket is universal, so it takes any standard cable. Even an older Type 1 car can use the One with the right cable, though nearly every EV sold in the UK now is Type 2.

What We Recommend

If you charge daily at home, buy the cable, lock it in and enjoy the tethered life. If your household runs different cars, or a company car cycle changes what is on the driveway, leave the socket open. Either way we confirm cable length at the survey and can supply a quality cable with the installation, so nothing turns up on install day missing a part.
