Which EV Chargers Work With Intelligent Octopus Go?

TL;DR

Ohme (ePod and Home Pro), Hypervolt Home 3 Pro, myenergi Zappi and Andersen chargers all work with Intelligent Octopus Go. The Easee One works as a linked device. Ohme has the deepest integration, with Octopus reading the tariff through a native API. If your charger is not compatible, you can still join the tariff with a compatible car.

Andersen and VCHRGD Seven chargers are also on the Octopus list. New models get added through the year, so we check the live list at every survey.

What the Integrations Actually Mean

Intelligent Octopus Go gives you around 8p per kWh between 23:30 and 05:30, plus extra cheap slots Octopus schedules outside that window. To do the scheduling, Octopus needs to talk to your charger or your car. That is why compatibility matters.

Native integration means Octopus controls the charger directly. You plug in, set a ready by time, and the platform picks the cheapest slots. The Ohme integration is the benchmark here. It is tight, reliable and hands off.

The Easee One takes a different route. It connects through Easee’s own cloud as a linked device. It works well for everyday overnight charging, but Easee’s own smart scheduling has to be switched off so the two systems do not fight each other. Easee’s support documentation covers this, and we set it up correctly at handover.

No Compatible Charger? You Have Two Routes

A charger with no Octopus integration does not lock you out of cheap charging. Octopus also connects directly to a long list of cars, including Tesla, BMW, Kia, Hyundai, VW Group and Renault. If your car is on that list, any charger will do the job.

If neither your charger nor your car connects, a fixed window tariff still cuts your costs. Octopus Go and EDF GoElectric work with any charger on a simple timer. You lose the smart scheduling, not the savings.

What You Need to Join

Three things. A SMETS2 smart meter, a compatible car or charger, and the Octopus app. Octopus installs smart meters free of charge if you do not have one. We handle the charger side, link your tariff at handover, and leave you with schedules already running.
