We are installers, not a review site. Match the Charger to Your Situation
Start with your electricity tariff. If you want Intelligent Octopus Go, the Ohme ePod and Home Pro have the deepest integration. If you are with OVO, the Hypervolt or Zappi V2 are the safe picks. The Hypervolt and the Nexblue both work with the two big smart tariffs, which keeps your options open if you switch supplier.
Then your roof. If you have solar panels, or plan them, the Zappi puts surplus generation straight into the car. The Hypervolt does genuine solar only charging too. On a sunny day that is free miles, measured honestly.
Then your parking. Tethered suits one car and a daily routine. A socket suits households whose cars change. The Easee One splits the difference, its app can lock a cable in permanently.

What They Cost
A 7kW smart charger installed typically costs £962 to £1,250 in the UK, VAT included. Premium solar units are at the top of that range. Every charger sold new in the UK must be smart under the 2021 regulations, so you are not paying extra for smart features. You are paying for integration depth, build quality and warranty.
One honest note. The most searched charger in Britain is the Ohme Home Pro, and having fitted plenty, we understand why. But the right answer still depends on your tariff and your wall. That is the whole point of a survey.
